On August 25th, I had my first class of Think and Make 1. During this class we were assigned to do a group scavenger hunt through Marvin/Chalmers Hall, the building the class takes place in. The scavenger hunt required us to find important rooms in the building that we would know and use regularly.
The first rooms my group and I found were the computer labs in the building.
We also visited the art shop n the building. This room is stalked with all kinds of art supplies that we can buy as we need them.
The next picture is located inside the printing lab. There are all sorts of special printers in this room for printing various projects, including the page matte printer.
Two more very helpful rooms we found on this scavenger hunt were the common shop, a room designated for spray painting and using adhesive spray glue, and the Marvin woods shop, used for making stretchers for canvases and other woodworking projects.
We took a short break in the library in the upstairs of Marvin Hall to take a picture on one of the couches.
The scavenger hunt was completed after we trecked across campus to visit the Art and Design library located in the Spenser Art Museum. While in the library we located a specific book about a designer and then proceeded to take a picture of one of the designers works.
The scavenger hunt helped me and my classmates understand where important rooms were in the building we would be taking classes in for the next four years. I felt much more comfortable in the building after I learned where a lot of those rooms were.
